Catavolt to Speak About Technology Innovation at 2016 NSSGA AGG1 Aggregates Academy and Expo
Panel discussion to explore the challenge of legacy back-end systems facing aggregates companies today
NASHVILLE, TN – MARCH 22, 2016– Today Catavolt will be participating in a roundtable discussion with aggregates and construction industry thought leaders at the 2016 National Stone, Sand & Gravel Association (NSSGA) AGG1 Aggregates Academy and Expo. The topic for the panel discussion is “The Most Important Technology Decision Facing Aggregates Companies Today,” at 2 p.m. CDT in Room 106C. The panel discussion will be led and moderated by Alan Maio of Q4 Impact Group.
Catavolt is a provider of enterprise rapid mobile app development solutions to the North American aggregates industry. Eric Martin, Catavolt’s vice president of marketing, was invited to speak about the challenges that aggregates companies face while dealing with legacy back-end systems. Typically installed legacy back-end systems include Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) and Customer Relationship Management (CRM) systems.
These legacy back-end systems have been around for decades and have long been the engine driving the aggregates industry. Unfortunately, as new opportunities for innovation such as enterprise mobility and the Internet of Things continue their move toward the mainstream, popular vendors of these legacy systems have reacted by closing or locking out their systems from integrating with newer solutions.
“Catavolt is enabling aggregates companies nationwide to use mobile apps with their existing systems to make their employees more productive and drive operational excellence,” Martin explained. “We’ve heard a significant number of our aggregates customers express concern that their legacy back-end technology providers are acting as barriers to innovation, rather than catalysts for positive change.”
The panel discussion will cover steps that aggregates companies can take to set themselves up for success as new innovative technologies enter the marketplace. Additionally, attendees from aggregates companies will learn the tough questions they need to ask their current vendors to ensure they are set up for innovation in the future.
